Boutwell named managing editor for Troy Publications Inc.

Josh Boutwell has been named Managing Editor of Troy Publications Inc.

The company publishes The Messenger, TroyLife magazine and troymessenger.com, as well several niche publications and magazines.

Boutwell has worked at The Messenger for three years as sports reporter.

Prior to that, he was the sports editor for the Southeast Sun in Enterprise for six years. He also worked as a general news reporter and sports reporter with The Enterprise Ledger and Andalusia Star-News.

He attended Elba High School and Enterprise State Community College.

“I’ve been covering Troy University sports for the better part a decade now and have enjoyed my time diving further into the local community in Troy these past three years,” Boutwell said. “I’m really looking forward to this new challenge as the managing editor and leading The Messenger to be Pike County’s No. 1 news source, while also continuing to cover all of the area’s local sports.”

Boutwell and his wife, Bethany, reside in Coffee County.
