After 15 years working at the Washington Daily News, Lou Firth maintains her enthusiasm about her job. “I am thankful for the opportunities the Boone organization has given me to learn and grow,” she said.
Recently promoted to office manager, Firth’s responsibilities extend far beyond the limits of any job title. “Not only does Lou do a great job running the business office, she also runs our circulation department and helps me in countless ways,” said Ray McKeithan, publisher. “She is always eager to assist customers and co-workers; she sets a great example for doing-whatever-is-necessary. Some days, that can be quite a lot.”
“I am responsible for keeping the office running smoothly and handling any issues that may arise,” Firth said. “I enjoy a fast-paced office and challenges and working with such a wonderful group of people. We have our own small family; I love working here.”
Her interest in fast-paced activities is not limited to the office. An avid sports fan, Firth enjoys following NASCAR, NFL and college basketball, especially the UNC Tarheels. She also finds time to relax and unwind. “I really enjoy time with family and friends, and frequent trips to the beach!” she stated.
